MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Ballroom Dance Academy is to provide the ballroom dance industry with highly qualified and educated dance instructors; to provide initial and continual education through the implementation of advanced courses, seminars and workshops; to set the standard for which world class competitors and dance educators are held; and to provide instructors and students of ballroom dancing a venue to express their opinions, desires, or grievances, and to act upon them on their behalf.
VISION STATEMENT
Help independent dance instructors to establish, own and operate a ballroom dance
facility. Create a Ballroom Dance Academy in every major city in Texas. Obtain or provide loans, grants, scholarships, or sponsorships for individuals wanting to enter the ballroom instructor career field. Establish a code of ethics to maintain a high standard of dance conduct and social integrity to promote the art of dance throughout Texas. To provide a ballroom dance board that will listen to and act upon grievances of both the instructors and the students of ballroom dancing. To provide the very best of instruction to both professional instructors and ballroom students.
DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
I created the Ballroom Dance Academy to provide an alternative means of obtaining a ballroom dance education and program for certification for instructors and a means for students to obtain quality ballroom dance instruction at prices far below those charged by franchised dance studios. To date, the only way a dance instructor can obtain certification is to work for an independent or franchised dance studio, sometimes working years before being able to gain the desired level of expertise; or to purchase a course of instruction which teaches both the woman’s and man’s school figures at the normal cost per hour of instruction at that studio. The only other way you can receive certification is to take workshops or seminars from examiners which can take up to months or years to obtain at a cost usually as high or higher as those found in studios. My academy will provide instructors with a quality education at a fraction of the cost. The academy will also provide continuing education through the use of advanced courses, seminars and workshops utilizing the top professionals in their field of dance. I continually believe that a ballroom dance instructor should always exhibit Knowledge – Excellence – Professionalism. These three words are the foundation upon which my academy is built.
